I'd like to kick off a discussion on film prices, where we can notify each other about excellent deals on film, regardless of the format. To begin, I'll share links to stores that typically offer great prices for film:
Fred, you mentioned you bought Fuji 400 3x36 for $18 from Walmart? In store or online? Their online store is Amazon-like i.e random sellers w random prices.
Flic Film's B&W films are cheapest (some people have concluded they are rebranded Fomapan), followed by Kentmere, then Washi-S (a very high-contrast, low-grain ISO 50 film originally made for recording audio in cinema), and on to the Foma and Rollei films.
I store my film, in the canister, in the cardboard box, about 10 boxes per large (1 gal?) plastic ziplock bags, the freezer. I started stocking up when/where ever I could about 3 years ago. I currently have about 200 rolls of Fuji & Kodak, 100, 200, 400 in the deepfreeze at -5 degrees F. Most of it expires in 2023 & 2024. It will be fine, frozen.

Mpex says it's made in the USA. So if it's Kodak Gold, sounds like a great price, and I'll be buying lots of it. Two questions:
1) Does film ever go on sale for Black Friday type sales?
2) Do you need to mention to your lab to process as Kodak Gold?
1. Not that I am aware of
2. No. You only need to tell them if it is C41/E6 etc - and that is usually written in the cassette anyway - and if you have pushed it/pulled it.

Do you use a sealed bag, to protect the film from moisture when storing in the freezer?
The film already comes in sealed/air tight individual tubs so no.
Of course, the 120/220 I do put in ziplocks. Not sure why though as they come in sealed, airtight wrappers too.
B&H Photo had years ago decent prices for films including 100' rolls of B&W film which I purchased. But then their pricing became less and less attractive including these rolls for self-rolling of 35 mm films. I haven't purchased from them since several years, never found good deals there. Instead I found pricing at FreeStylePhoto (link was mentioned above) much better. This is where I bought films and chemicals most often.
I have used with very good experience Fujicolor 200 film. Better priced than Kodak Gold 200 film.
I keep checking for ACROSii to hit that fire sale, but it's been over a year and nothing. Almost out I may suck it up and stock up at current Adorama prices $10/Roll
