Very nice, John!
They kinda' look small for wolves.
Know why?
Hi Paul, Thanks for looking and commenting. This being the first time I have seen them,I'm certainly not a expert. The ones in #2,7,8 " Orange Collared One " , 9 and 11 I would guess are adults or close to being adult. Wolves in # 1,3,4,6, and 10 are either this years pups or last years. I'm just guessing based head development, and overall size ( neck, head, body mass etc.

John, a very nice series. No one I noticed asked about the orange band/collar around the neck.
I have to assume he/she we banded by some environmental agency.
Thank you Ted. Honestly Ted I'm not sure who collars them. I would guess it would be Fish and Game Service. I did read there were 11 collared and about 21-23 without collars. I have been in this area a few times before and tried to see one, this is the only time I ever got a glimpse of one.

What an exciting set of encounters with this beautiful wolf! Man those eyes and the eye contact you captured is mesmerizing. Got goosebumps from a few with intensity of that gaze, wow they all are beautiful. Love the cornstalk and watering hole shots and the early morning one with collared Mom and her offspring!

Presentation is really pleasant, very natural IMO.

Thanks Karl. It was fun to see and photograph them. The shot with Mom and pups was taken just minutes before sunrise.

What fabulous canids! Gorgeous photos...you are indeed very fortunate...next my wolf will be my first. I can't comment about their size but I'm always surprised by how big they are when I see them in captivity or on a wildlife show.

Superb images!
Are you seeing these wolves in Ohio? I have heard there are a few in NC, but there is some resistance to them from locals.
Voted.
Dave
Hi Dave. I appreciate you always looking and leaving comments. No these were not Ohio. These were in N.C. Most locals I talked to ( Photographers/ wildlife lovers ) were very protective of them. Grateful for your vote.
