These are SO cute, do you know where they are commonly found? Would love to photograph them myself!
ar10 - They live at high altitude above the tree line in an alpine setting. They live on rock faces, talus (slopes form by rock debris), and cliffs near mountain meadows. All of these Pika images were taken at or around 11,000' - 12,000' feet in elevation. These images were taken in the Mosquito Range in Colorado. Often you will hear them before you see them, they make a high pitched whistle noise. They are extremely fast and don't sit in the same place for very long, at least for me they don't.
Rocky Mountain National Park is a great location and has easy to access to see and shoot Pika. Top of Trail Ridge Road is loaded with them. Mount Evans in Colorado is another great place for Pika.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment, I appreciate it.
