Why are you guys wasting your time debating theoretical cameras and IQ/DR when the RF 600 f/4 DO has just hit the rumour mill again??
Not a single thread about the upcoming RF 400/4DO and 600/4DO....just idle speculation about camera IQ and future cameras.
Get your priorities in line people....you guys have lost the plot.

Your assumption seems to be that you can only ever own a single camera and that you would have to give up your high resolution camera.
No way I would get rid of the A1 for anything other than A1ii, but upgrading my A9 to A9iii would make sense. I seldom go above iso6400 or below iso800 so can't see any big compromise in the IQ department in this range.
If I had to use iso25,600 or above I am sure I would have a different set of priorities.
If it makes sense to you to pay an additional $2,307 AUS over what your A9 cost new but with crippled IQ in comparison, then by all means snatch one up. Sony will thank you for it.
We all have different priorities or needs.

We Canon users are not in the pitiful state that we have to use lenses with only one focal length 😉
Thanks! Sadly the unicorn 600 that you once saw in the EF mount still seems to be just that still, a unicorn with no solid commitment. What a great lens that 400 will be though.

Yes clearly - your moose and bear images don't need a stacked sensor, let along a global shutter with full AF-C while shooting at 120fps RAW.
