I've been on the Isle of Skye for a few days now, touring around in my trusty van with Dave (my dog) as a travelling buddy. The weather has not been ideal with rain, hailstones, very high winds and low cloud cover but in the periods when my gear could come out the bag I grabbed what I could. The first two are of the Old man of Storr that required a hike in the dark at 5am, only for the sunrise to be very disappointing. I did have the Storr to myself, except Dave, which was a very humbling experience.
All the shots of the Cuillins are taken from the beach at Elgol which is a challenging drive in the van as the roads aren't in great condition but well worth the trip. Again the conditions were not perfect and the rain kept the camera in the bag for most of the time. Dave had a great time though, rooting around in the rocks and chasing the sea birds and rabbits nearby.
The Fairy Pools are an amazing series of falls and pools located in Glen Brittle and at the Northern base of the Cuillins, the opposite side from where I took the shots at Elgol.
The last photo is of the Nest Point Lighthouse. This is the farthest west you can drive on mainland Scotland, if you want to go further you have to take a ferry.
The last few days have been a challenge for me but I think it has been a worthwhile trip. I still have a couple of days left, so may post more when I get home. Hope you enjoy the images and please leave a comment, It's the only way to improve.
Beautiful work.
Love #1 and last one the most.
Ps...Post more when you can, wish I was there, rain or not.
I'd find a castle to stay in till the rain stopped.
Really like the scene in 1,2. Composition is better for me in 1 but colours in 2. Too bad about hike in the dark without strong colour but it still is nice. Great spot. I guess I have to visit. Thank your for sharing. Scott

Hi Scott, thanks for the comment and yes, if you can, you have to visit Skye and other Hebridean islands (Harris, North and South Uist).

Thanks Bill. I have my little castle in wheels to wait out the rain and will post more when they are ready. Cheers.
I miss Skye. Particularly like your Old Man of Storr images. I realise why you say that sunrise was disappointing but the images do have a special quality.

1st and 3rd shots are my favorites. Did you have a polarizing filter? It appears you can see through the water in 3rd shot and that really is a treat.
Hi Gordon, thanks for the kind comments. Yes I did have a polarising filter on in number 3. Makes a huge difference.
