I was up early to do a morning track walk and saw this crazy cloud cover and decided to snap a pic. I always walk the track early before the sun is up to clear my head and warm up before racing. This scene really set me up for the day! Full rez can be seen here https://www.joeltpowell.com/Landscapes/i-mX9XcJS/A Thank you for looking.

I'm not much into racing, and would never attend one, but this is outstanding. The morning quiet before the race must be quite a contrast to the noise and smell once the action begins.

Thank you Jim. It is calming. The "feel" of it is something that im able to take advantage of before the action starts. It's similar to being on top of a peak of a mountain all to yourself. Hard to describe. I know you know what im talking about!

Beautiful sunrise capture Joel! I like the texture of the foreground the the black and white contrast of the finish line. Very nicely done!

I like the image but find the black cloud a bit too dark. Not sure I've seen a cloud as coal black as the asphalt. I might try to do a local adjustment to lighten that just a bit.

Thanks Karl
It was. This track is in the middle of nowhere and it is super quiet this early before everything gets going. Really nice to clear everything up in my head walking the track. I had a really good weekend. 5 races over the weekend and most were top 5's. I race a Yamaha R7 in the Twins Lightweight category. I turn pro in March. I am hoping to make my pro Moto America race debut in September of 2024 in Texas racing COTA.
