p.3 #1 · Focus beep on or off?

I am primarily a wildlife photographer and I generally use AI Servo mode in conjunction with the * button. On the rare occasion when I use "One Shot" mode (macro work and landscapes) I sometimes forget to reselect AI Servo. I keep the "beep" turned on so that it reminds me to reselect AI Servo, as the beep doesn't work when AI Servo is in use.

Just tested it with the lens cap. The red square does not flash since it can't focus. Am I missing something?

This is interesting. I never noticed that the Canon bodies provided a tone for focus confirmation.

Just tested my 20D with lens cap on. The red square blinks.
