A series anyone would be proud of taking. Nice work Scott !!
Mount Assiniboine is truly special !!
Mount Assiniboine is special. I think its my favourite place for scenery and lack of crowds and just lots of great hikes for every level of skill. I should book a week at the lodge next year and just chill out.
Glad you like the series. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Recently watched a video highlighting one of the original care takers @ Mount Assiniboine. I think he was 97 and still going there.
bmike-vt: I guess I have to visit Zurich. I have been to Italy mountains but not elsewhere in Europe. My experience is that Europe is better for longer summer season, signage, trails, Refugios, gondolas and no bears to eat me; but Canada is better for smaller crowds and more natural. As I get older I am finding Europe more appealing. Glad you like the images. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
dakel: I flew in and out for $200 each way, and stayed at the campground. You have to have a reservation at the campground to do the same. In the past I have walked in but then I am tired and can't bring as much camera equipment. Glad you like the photography. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
IndyFab: I have met Sepp and Barb Renner - the custodians from 1983 to 2010. Sepp is a great guy and has climbed Assiniboine more than 60 times. The Renner family and Claude are wonderful - they guide their guests, feed them and entertain every night in summer and winter season. I have not met the previous custodian - Strom. If you can afford it - $500/night - its a great experience to have a warm bed off the ground, hiking guiding and wonderful hosts. The current owners also watch out for you and keep you safer. And I think comparing $500 to a first tier hotel in Banff - it no contest that Assiniboine Lodge is superior. You can also book the nasset huts - which are rudimentary to avoid sleeping on the ground but I prefer Lodge first, tenting 2nd, and Nassets last because I am not found of shared facilities.

Gorgeous! #7 is just so ethereal. Love your treatment.
Lake Magog is very pretty. There is a hidden bench where you can sit and view. It is my favourite bench in the world. Glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Thanks for sharing such large gorgeous shots. #5 and 8 for me. I also love #2 for the great composition and clouds. The mist adds a bit of softness, but clears just enough to let the details on the peak show through.
I just got back from a 3 week trip up through BC to Lake Louise - my first time in fall and it was great. I tried to talk my wife into flying in there and staying in a cabin but she wasn't interested (not into outhouses any more).
5 is a reflecting pond just 400m west of Mount Assiniboine Lodge. It works better in July when it fills up but I have shot it in winter (snow reflections) at -38 and summer and fall. It is great.
8 is shooting back from Ogg Lake. There is a campground there. There are some beautiful larch to combine with Assiniboine. Earlier is better.
Mount Assiniboine has showers and a sauna. Their only roughing it is the outhouse. My wife is the same way - she won't go for outhouses -- and she won't go for for fear of heights in the helicopter. I usually arrive 3 or 4 days early and hike like crazy and then she arrives.
