I think you'll be very impressed. Someone here said Tamron's 35 1.4 is the best lens they ever made....I have to believe a lot of what went into that lens went into this one because for me at least, it's the best image quality of any lens I have and I'm comparing it to some L lenses like the 24 70 2.8 version II. I hope you'll share your thoughts on the lens after you use it for a while.

I have the tamron 35 1.4 and it’s lovely. flare is a bit weird for me (like it’s super controlled with one little spot that if it falls in the wrong place, ruins the feel for me). It’s my sharpest 35mm, and maybe my favorite, unless I’m expecting a lot of backlight flares.

I also have the 45mm 1.8, which is the same series as the 35 1.8, and it’s pretty meh. I should sell it as it never gets used. If the 35 1.8 is more like the 45mm, I’d pass and get the Sigma for a bit more money.

I might make it to the shop tomorrow and check it out. I'm not sure if I'll grab it, the size difference compared to my tiny RF lenses would be pretty extreme.
Trying to pack light for Thailand trip next week!

Been shooting the Tamron 35/1.8 VC for a few days here in Thailand, this lens is a joy. I love the images. Focus is fast and accurate, the VC works, build is great. I like the mechanical focus ring.

Cons- man it's chunky and sticks out far on the EF adapter.
I feel like it needs a filter to be sealed, since the front element extends (but still stays within the overall lens housing).

I might give the stupid RF 35 another chance, it's simply so much smaller package.

Honestly, my Tamron was wonderful and a workhorse. The unfortunate thing is that I was frequently getting lens connection issues with my R6 and R6Mk II. It's happened so much lately (I do weddings and can't risk it), that I upgraded to the EF 35mm 1.4 II. Absolutely stunning piece of glass, no issues what so ever. The images out of there are so crisp, and it's a way better build.

I really like the images from the Tamron but do not like the size and weight of it.
If you are interested in picking one up to pair with your L, let me know, I would let it go cheap.
