@yukosteel just posted the first review on the Voigtlander 35mm F0.9 Nokton Aspherical Fuji X mount lens!
Here are a couple passages:
"First impression out of the box - the lens is surprisingly not too large as for ultra fast F0.9 aperture and knowing that some electronics is packed inside. I'd say the size is very similar to Fujinon XF 23mm F1.4 autofocus lens. The weight is 17oz which is about 480g, it feels very well balanced on Fuji X-T5 camera thanks to great weight centering."
"Cosina site mentioned FLE (Floating Lens Element) involved into optical design, so I've checked that. The rear optical module is moving in much shorter range of about 5-6mm, which is clearly indicating FLE movement, which is slightly modifying optical formula of lens while focusing and should improve IQ overall on whole focusing range. That is more complex to make mechanics observable in premium Leica M glass optics, which adds to the lens price but also to its optical performance."
Thank you Fred for the link.
It's too expensive for my tastes and I have the nokton 35mm f1.2, so I'm not interested in this lens, but it seems a great performer
The IQ at distance examples doesn't look so great to me for fringing, CA, and bokehs. Surely there are many constraints that make this a special purpose lens.
Well its not a comprehensive review for sure but a good preliminary first look I would say. So far I like what I see with this lens and of course some LCA would be expected at f0.9 in certain instances. Overall the bokeh seems very very nice with excellent image IQ and rendering as is characteristic of CV.
I am in no hurry for one but I will continue to monitor reviews and real world usage performance of this lens as I do have an interest. That being said, I am very happy and impressed with the small CV 35mm/1.2 so far and am glad I picked one up.
