These are really some great work, not just well detailed, but comp, light and color are fantastic as well.

When I saw the subject "Just some macro shots" and that you posted them I knew I would see more than simple macros. You have outdone your self with this superb set and you got my vote.
How are you getting so close? Tubes, close up filter (lens) or something else?
Hi Ronny. IMHO your images should never be described as " Just some macro shots ". They simply never are !! Just my opinion These are exceptional images ! All are fantastic but I really like the first 5 shots. I think it's the beautiful blue color. Easily earned my vote.
The idea with my macro photography has never been to have everything 100% sharp and always have the whole insect in focus down to the smallest detail
a few photos recently, I have used Olympus's own stacking function in the camera, which can clearly raise the photos to another level
but I've never thought that everything has to be super sharp.. can be a part of the body out of focus or some wing here or there if now the pictures are ok otherwise.. stacking function in the camera is good to have on certain occasions but it doesn't always get perfect either, the slightest movement of the insect and the stacking is almost always destroyed ..not to mention your own stability
I also don't think much about how to crop with motifs on the right, left or in the middle .. if I think it looks good, I can put the motif in the middle of the picture .. is that right or wrong?
no, I don't think so, but the image can certainly be enhanced with a better crop, which you sometimes miss.. but just when you're sitting at the computer and editing, you make the crop that feels right at that particular moment
at least that's what I think
Then I like to take the pictures in their natural environment
will be a little more difficult to access and find them to get a good photo position, etc
But of course I have tried other things as well

#10 a Robber Fly? is off the charts on detail and 3D like looks, assuming a focus stack on this one? Wow!!
#2 and #5 Jewel Wings? are stunning and love the arched perch!
#9 is an interesting and amazing creature, sweet image as well.
Hmmm hard not to fall in love with #14 for color and details but the menacing and look and framing of that eye in the last takes the show for me

These are incredible, Ronny! You did an amazing job, all the way around. What stands out to me the most is the clarity of detail in the shots done with both the 60mm and 90mm macro lenses -- and your top notch job of processing all of these.
