it's a bummer the camera did not show up in proper condition, but hopefully you have it sorted.
I think it will be fine. Just disappointed. I was really bummed when it just sat there for the first 15 minutes and we stared at each other.
BTW, you and your recommendations will be my financial ruin. I just bought a N80 with zoom lens for $23 on eBay. $25 seems to be a good limit for taking a risk on these cameras. I do have to stop. though.

N80 is such a good camera! no excuses needed! I use them more than my F6.
Just be very careful closing the back door/Film door. Hold the latch up, close it, then release the latch. Don't snap it shut like one would as all these era non pro Nikons have a plastic latch than can fail. F100, F75, F80 etc. F6 - metal.
Even the lowly EM was metal! Nikon saved a nickel or less and we now have to deal w it...

Between the AF Slim and the Pentax Espio I'm having a blast with these little cameras. I'm carrying them everytime I'm out.
Bob, your shots are great and lots of fun to see. I hope mine works as well as yours seems to work.
How much noise does the AF Slim make? I've got a nice little Nikon AF600 but it creates an unholy racket in operation. I'm looking for something that doesn't make bystanders dive for cover. Although that might result in some interesting images.

Sorry, I was out of town today and just saw your question.
The AF slim is a little noisy but, about what most sound like. A little whirring as you turn it on and off and when you zoom. I actually like the sound, but that's me. Huss looks like he is going to compare the two cameras and get back to you.
N80 and its kit lens arrived today. $23 from the Salvation Army. I know it's not a point and shoot but Huss recommended it and I bought it as a result. So I'm going to make you all look at it.
The camera was super sticky and it had the dreaded ERR code once I put fresh batteries in it. I did a trick I found online to hold the two manual rewind buttons and turn the camera on and off a bunch of times and then try taking a shot. That fixed the ERR code and the N80 is working fine now. The lens is in really good condition. No major scratches on the glass. The whole setup is very light and actually quiet in operation.
I am cleaning up the camera now, but here are a few shots of it in all its glory. I'm actually quite happy with it.

I compared my AF Slim Zoom to my Nikon AF600/LiteTouch.
Samsung is noisier turning on and off. Nikon is noisier (and slower) taking a pic.
My conclusion? Both make p&s camera noise!
My Pentax Espio 24EW is quieter than both, but you still hear it…
My Canon 35AF ML makes the Samsung sounds whisper quiet.

I really like the colours in these photos. Could they be regarded as representative of Cinestill 50D or have they had some digital adjustment?
