Several weeks ago I was asked to be a sponsor for a local drag competition by providing a short photo shoot as part of the prize package for the winning contestant. The competition took place over several weeks with one contestant being eliminated each week until a winner was crowned, which in the end was won by this performer who goes by the name Fussy Fa'Nuttin.
Drag is one of my very favorite performance artforms, and I actually have done a handful of drag shoots this year that I'm very proud of, including a full campaign for the Portland Pride event earlier this Summer, but have been hesitant to share knowing that some choose to villainize the artform rather than trying to understand it.
Canon 5D MKIII with a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens. Lit using available light and a reflector.
Very nicely done. I especially like the background choice of the last two images. The similar tonalities of the stairs and the model's legs work particularly well.
Thanks for sharing!
