That said, there is a tech out there who is doing close focus conversions for the 35/1.4 Lux lenses. I believe I saw a post about it on Instagram:

Wow they even updated the distance scale (or swapped in a new ring).

I think they engraved the new "close focus" numbers onto the existing ring and filled them in gray to differentiate them. Personally, I think they should be the same color as the other numbers since they're still within the rangefinder coupling range.

The person who worked on my lens did it mostly for the fun of it and for the challenge, but unfortunately he is not taking on other lenses. I only posted this to show it's possible. I also changed my plastic tab for a black painted brass.

I knew you were going to say this lol. That conversion looks quite amazing

Skyllaney do superlative work but it usually costs a commensurate amount. I'd be curious to hear their fee for the modification.

Anyone has experience with this person? I would send my SRR to him.

The other question is would Leica service it in the future if you do any mod? I guess you can always CLA with DAG or other 3rd party options.

Update: Skyllaney no longer does individual mods. They only do batch work. So much for that option.
