This summer, I've been trying to head up once a week before work to do sunrise shots on the mountain lakes in Rocky. Sunrise time is creeping up to a point that I can't do the longer ones and still get to work on time after, so this is it apart from hopefully doing Emerald/Haiyaha/Dream in the next few weeks as the days shorten.
I backpacked this area extensively in the late 70s - usually late winter/early spring. It is interesting to see these lakes with out feet of snow on them. Thanks for binging back some very fond memories.
it must be nice having this on your doorstep (as I have Glacier, here in Montana now).

Love that last one the best - gorgeous!!

Thank you! I try to get up to Rocky in the winter as well, but since sunrise is later in the morning, I can't pull the same trick of getting the sunrise shot, jogging down the trail and being at work on time. Limits me to weekends, which means less opportunity.
Glacier up in Montana is pretty dang gorgeous too, it's been too many years since I last visited.
