My experience with manual focus lens on fuji focusing assistance is not very positive.
With big aperture like f2 or even f2.8, it's hard to nail a perfect focus.
With smaller aperture like f5.6 or f8, the peaking is too sensitive. Most of the time, almost everything in the picture is highlighted as "focused" because the focal plane is too thick. I just basically give up on manual focus on fuji x
Peaking is most effective with fast lenses when shooting wide open. If you stop the lens down to f/8, peaking won't be as useful, and you might not get accurate results. To manually focus with a lens stopped down this much, focus at the widest aperture and then adjust the aperture ring to your desired setting for the best results, unless the lens has significant focus shift.

And to work around the shift issue, open the lens to say, f/2.8, focus, then stop down. You'll have less shift from f/2.8 to f/8 than from f/1.2 to f/8.

Is anyone out there currently using this lens? I’d love to see more sample photos if you’re open to sharing. For anyone who’s shot with it in the past, what was your experience like? Curious to hear impressions.
From what I’ve seen so far, the rendering looks really interesting.

I just got a copy of this lens. It is in the mail, so it will be a week or so until I can shoot with it, but I will try to share some photos when I get it.

You buy this lens to shoot wide open most of the time. It's not the easiest to nail focus with but when you do, it's very special. that said the more you use it the more you will get keepers in an acceptable zone of focus. It's got a nice size to it also and fits well on larger and smaller bodies.

It seems excellent for portraits wide open. How does it perform when stopped down for landscapes? (not my intended use, but curious).
I also find it interesting that Cosina Voigtländer describes the design as a ‘Sonnar formula.’ That likely contributes to its distinctive rendering and bokeh.

I've never used it for landscapes, so can't answer that. I use the 50 for portraits and really like it for that purpose. I could see the Sonnar comparison, I used to shoot the M mount 50mm Sonnar a lot. It's one of those you love the way it looks or hate it, no in between.

I found it to perform very well for corner-to-corner sharp cityscapes by f4. I think it would work very well for landscapes too.

My copy should be here on Friday. I hope to be able to compare it to the Voigtlander 75 f/1.5 and the Voigtlander 50 f/1.2 SE in APS-C crop mode on Sony this weekend. When I do I will start a new thread with some hopefully useful comparisons.

Love mine. It's typically the long end of a 2 or 3 lens EDC or travel kit for me. This lens taught me I get along well with the FOV for city shooting.
When I venture out into the sticks I tend to use the Samyang 75 or an adapted Contax G 90/2.8 as the long end instead.
