I love watching them harass, not beg, the parents for food. I was at the Venice Rookery in FL a couple years back and witnessed this first hand. Very entertaining. Nice work Louie.

Wow, these are terrific photos!
Beautiful color, tones, and detail. They leave the impression that they are not cropped much.

Beautiful rendering in this set Louie.
They certainly aren't shy about asking for dinner. I guess that's part of survival of the fittest at work, or squeaky wheel, heh.

Fantastic set, Louie! It's nice to see them up close, in detail and in their (aggressive) glory! Aren't they something??

I've been visiting a heronry ~weekly since mid-May but can't get nearly as close. Still, it's been fascinating to have seen their development from young chicks, barely visible in the nest to the fledglings they've become in the last couple weeks.
