Joshua these are beautiful images. Thanks for the story as well. You are a brave guy I would want way more lens for that kind of creature. If memory serves these guys guys can weigh in at a couple of hundred pounds.Your eye level perspective gives these images a powerful feel. I can still remember seeing one of the Komodo dragons featured in a James Bond movie dragging some guy off. Glad that wasn't you.
Dave
Hi Dave, thank you for your kind comment and I am glad that you like the images. Adults can be 10-foot long and these guys mean business if it is coming down to food. I am still impressed by the calmness of the ranger and again, that forked stave works well to startle the dragon.

Very cool. I would love to see a wild Komodo dragon sometime. During my zoo career I raised up 2 that were hatched in captivity. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words, Aaron! Ah, that’s interesting to know.

Terrific images. I think I would probably not have tested the Ranger's stave defense method.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Bob!

Impressive in so many ways, Joshua! Your investment in the private guide paid off--these are really dramatic pictures.
Good that you lived through the experience--I bet it got the adrenaline pumping.
Beautiful beach too--what a neat place to explore!

Kim, I greatly appreciate your kind words. Yes, I gladly spent the extra money to hire that private ranger/guide.
