I have made a few visits to a remote mountain village in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. I am slowly making friends with its inhabitants. They appreciate that I bring prints to them, and I appreciate their great authenticity. They make wonderful subjects, because there is very little artifice involved. The last time I was there, I used an open window to frame my shots. The results are below.
(What I particularly appreciate are the hands of the fellow in picture 2. He obviously has done much manual work in his life.)

The relationship based on trust and friendship shines through. These are wonderful portraits. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much for noticing. There is an inherent innocence there, but I like to think I have a good connection based on my nature, which is generally gentle and respectful. It helps that I bring them prints as well.
What's really amazing about this photos is that the subjects are all strangers to you. You managed to convince them all to pose. They are all excellent portraits too, in my opinion.
