BALTIMORE — On May 7, 2023, - Baltimore, Maryland -Another geomagnetic storm gives some Marylanders the chance to see the northern lights
Weather pending arouras can be visible on the northern horizon" Here we have had Extreme Air Quality alerts due to Canada's wildfires but 2 days ago a storm pushed the smoke, smell and haze to the South and we were blessed with this."
Due to the sun's super explosive solar flares we were going to bed when we saw this from out patio door.
News reports say a few months of this all the way to Texas, Arkansas and South.

Thank you Roberta! The aurora in summer in Maryland?? It was beautiful! It is still appearing here on clear nights. But the fires in Canada are still filling the air here at times.
People in southern Virginia are sending pictures to the local TV weather channels.
We need rain badly! That would provide a far better view and more pictures.
Thanks again!

Terrific shot, Dan. They've been visible here a couple of times recently. Unfortunately, it's after my bedtime.
Cheers,
Brent
I got lucky Brent!
With the wildfires in Canada blocking any night vision for weeks, an afternoon shower cleared the air and cooled us down very nicely!
Patio door faces NE and I caught a huge burst of red and went out and saw this! Luckily the aurora stayed around enough for me to get a shot!
The brightness came in waves as did the ribbons of green and red!
Thanks!

Sweet Dan. 👍👍
Thanks Ted!
Now if you are in an area (your in PA?) with very little light pollution the aurora is visible to us and even further South.
I saw it 2 nights ago also but it wasn't as bright.
We are still getting the fire smoke from Canada and it was a tad hazy but visable.
It was midnight and I stayed outside photographing for at least an hour. I had a minor problem "air wise". The NE is directly in the flight path into BWI from the West. Darn planes were buzzing in and out of the frame! I thought it might look "cool" in a composition but not so good.
