It's been some time since I have been on the forum due to serious family illness. However, I managed to spend a short time in the valley on June 6th. Weather was mixed with high clouds and mostly dreary. Went back the next morning when there were periods of sunlight.
The first scene is of the pond on our property, located about a half hour outside the park. An idyllic place of respite for many years.
Next, I include a photo of Bridalveil Fall. I "cheated" here because I did something I have not done before - used Photoshop Sky Replacement. The actual sky was a blank canvas of nondescript barely light blue/gray. (You, too, have many of these amongst your landscape files.)
In this case, the replaced sky was akin to many I have seen there before and made the scene more palatable without distracting from it since the center-of-interest was clearly the copious water cascading over the fall. Thus, I don't apologize for the sleight-of-hand and would not even disclose it if a print was hanging in a gallery.
Third, we have everyone's standard scene of Yosemite Falls just down the path from Swinging Bridge toward the Chapel.
Fourth, looking across normally dry Leidig Meadow from Northside Drive. A lovely tableau on this day.
Next, while not landscape, it was enjoyable to see waterfowl swimming in the "dry" meadow. A merganser followed by a female Wood Duck trailed by her ducklings.
