My wife and I camped at Skyline in our truck camper and I set the alarm for sunrise, but slept in a bit after looking out the window and seeing socked in clouds. When I did get up I figured I might as well go see what I could find. Not much color so I shot with the intention of a black and white conversion. It was too windy to use a tripod, and difficult to set it up on the uneven ground near the edge I was standing on, so I depended on the improved IBIS on the A7rV when shooting the verticals that make up this pano. First glance at the RAW images didn't inspire, but I'm finally getting around to working with them and quite happy with what modern PP tools can do.
Jeffery, Ben's images of this place a few years ago started getting me psyched, then your drone shots sealed the deal and it became the #1 place I wanted to visit on my next Utah trip. Thanks for the inspiration.
Chas, Skyline Overlook is just east of Factory Butte, which is north of UT rt. 24 near Hanksville. A bit of a dirt road drive out to it, but the road has been maintained so pretty easy.
