p.10 #1 · D850 still takes a better picture than z8/9, change my mind.
For whatever it's worth, I've seen all the charts and tests on this website or that one and know what people who go by this stuff would reasonably expect, but I nevertheless find my Z8 to feel very noisy compared to what I was used to on my D500, especially when it comes, as the OP says, to pushing stuff around in post. I'll take a low ISO photo in beautiful lighting and then look at it on the computer and say, "wow, why so much noise?" and I'll assume I was shooting at a higher ISO than I rembered and check it only to find it's 200 or 400 and wonder what I needed to do differently.
