p.1 #1 · Photoshop updated with Remove Tool

No longer in beta, it is now part of the regular Photoshop version. It lives in the spot healing brush tool well (shortcut J).

Dave Kelly has a good introduction -

PS: Those using Tony Kuyper's super-plugin should take a look at Dave's channel for his excellent tutorials.

While it looks like it might be an interesting tool, why on earth do these reviewers, and I'm referring to the first video posted keep guessing as to how the tool works, and in this case keep saying that it must be operating in the cloud because it's taking so long. Really? If that were true then the tool would never work if you were not connected to Adobe. I think a more likely reason is that these operations are computer/processor intense and the dude's computer is just slow. And they never fully zoom in to two or three hundred percent to see just how clean (or not) these operations are. I could go on but I have work to do...

That video was made about a month ago when the Remove Tool was in beta and it is likely the computation happened in the cloud at that time.

Not in my "regular" Photoshop, according to Creative Cloud. Anybody really find it in regular?

I tried again hours later and the update was there. Adobe is probably rationing the rollout to avoid swamping their servers.

But now, more confusion. I got version 24.5 and the Remove tool is there, but the "Generative Fill" tool is not. Guides say it should be under the Adjustments Panel, but mine is still the old version.

Generative Fill is not yet released. It's on the Beta version though, which you can install.
