Sorry. I do not recognize him right off the bat and I don't think I've ever photographed him either, and yes, I've come across people in my archives that weren't labeled and that I can no longer remember who they were, so there's that. Once you tell us who it is I'm sure we'll all be slapping our collective foreheads and proclaiming "oh yeah, of course".
I thought of you, in part, because Max has been pals with a lot of musicians you might have photographed. He was in the middle of all those anti-nuke folks like Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Brando, et al.
PS I’m still enamored of your David Lindley photos posted several weeks back!
You are sharper than a serpent’s tooth! That’s exactly who it is.
Max came to Austin recently to visit his daughter. I drove down to meet up for lunch.
I find him an interesting cat.

He caught me right off the bat Jacques! Yes I had to stop and think for awhile but it came to me eventually! My hair style is very similar but mine much less. He looks great!
You did him proud!
Dan

Interesting. I did not know that about him. We watch old Barney Miller re-runs all the time (I think on FETV) and see Max in many of them. It was such a great show and such a shame they shot it on video tape. Great bass line in the theme song too.

I have not followed his career and he's someone, when he lost his hair seems to have totally transformed his look. Just watched a little interview with him after he won a daytime Emmy for General Hospital. It always seemed to me that that little bit of an asymmetrical smile was his trademark and if that had been in your photo of him that might have jogged my memory. Seems like a very cool guy though.
And thank you about the Lindley photos. I still have a few more to scan but I got sidetracked with a bunch of work and a couple of out of town trips as well. To me it's really amazing at how deeply the professional music community was affected by Lindley's death. People are still talking about it and their personal experiences with Mr. Dave. Just makes me miss him and Prine all the more for two of my absolute all time favorites who both died from Covid.
