I went out to see if the Osprey’s returned to the nest from last year and sure enough the female was guarding the it. There were three other photographers, who have been there awhile and got impatient to wait for the male, decided to leave. I decided to stick it out and within 45 minutes, WOW. The male approached the nest with a catch for the female, but before he could lay the catch into the nest, she grabbed it abruptly, and flew away to another perch leaving him stunned and surprised. I walked to the other perch and she was about done with her treat, caught her having the last bite and she flew back to protect the nest, the male had left at this point.
I hope you enjoy it; it was a first for me, but fun and allot excitement.
Excellent work Chris. The first thing I noticed in the first frame was the head on the fish. Usually the male will eat the head before bringing the rest in to the nest. Possibly she expected this or the couple was having a bad day. What ever the reason, you documented the events wonderful!

Thank You Morris, I think the male is still courting the female at this point and the male eats the head when they ar feeding the nest.
Great set Chris you got some great images, sharp, perfect exposures, and what ever camera lens combo you were using really locked on through the whole sequence. Great nest location with almost eye level perspective, especially the female on the stump.
