Thanks for the comments guys. It was a cold windy morning. Luckily my truck camper was parked so it provided a wind break where I could set up my tripod, otherwise I would have only snapped a couple shots and gone in for breakfast.
Jim, there are great campsites (some a bit more sheltered -well, anything is more sheltered than at Muley Pt!) if you go east on the road you came in on, then take pretty much any of the roads heading south/right. Some sites are on the rim, others on the other side of the road. Some in the trees, some in depressions close to the rim. But, hey, if you want views, you get winds.....
I've camped on Muley Point so many times that I have lost count. I proposed to my wife there, a short distance west of the point. I can't remember a single night camping there that wasn't windy.
Hi Monika! We were there for the views, so found a place right on the rim without many neighbors. Our first time there, but not the last. Well worth the wind for this view out the window the camper.
Muley Point is one of the places that don't see (IMO) a lot of visitors because you have to want to go there to get there (its just not along the side of at the road).
And camping is easily the best way to get such a sweet image as yours. Fun place...now I want to go back!
Thanks for the comments Ross & Dale. I'm back home. We were planning on staying for another couple weeks but my wife was ready to come home and my allergies were driving me crazy even with medication. Last spring trip for me - back to fall in the future.

Oh man, allergies are not fun! I usually react also in the Southwest and have to take multiple natural allergy supplements to tame it, even when I go in January. The low humidity makes sinus issues even worse.
I was just a few miles from there until I ran north for the aurora, great area. Lots more people than there used to be, and my gosh, all the drones! I think I need a pellet gun for the dudes that just hang right over your campsite... lol
Jeff, no drones the days we were there. I'm a pilot myself, but strive to minimize my impact on others. Hovering over people or camps being a no go IMO, in fact I normally only fly when there is no one around me.
