Yes, the Sigma 16-28 is on my short list. Waiting for it to drop in price or for there to be an open box unit available, though it is priced well. I have a 20 and a 24 and with the 28-70, I have a 28, so do I need anything other than an uwa? The convenience factor, I guess. Now here comes the little and light 17.....

Alan Parker, The Sony Alpha blog' s Marc Alhadeff has a new review of the 17 and seems to like it, though he does point out that this lens won't do good sunstars and is best at 5.6 and 8. They also said that it is a "very performant ultra wide angle..." They do compare it against the Nisi 15mm 4.5 MF and found the Nisi better in price/performance. But being a MF lens, the Nisi does not pass EXIF data through to the camera since it has no electrical contacts. The Voigtlander 15 was not mentioned.

I would like to see 17/4 a bit wider (16mm) and faster (f2,8) rather, but it still looks tempting to complement my set of small, high IQ,AF,FF lenses from the wide end.Combination of IQ,built quality ,size, weight and manual aperture ring here, seems to be quite attractive to me.Any Sony FF ILCE camera with IS make it suitable for interiors wide open and for other applications f4 is usually not an obstacle.

Viltrox has a 16/1.8 coming, rumored for May. It won't be small and IQ's an open question, but it may be more in line with what you want and the price should be attractive.

I’m very curious to see the coma correction on this. A 16/1.8 with good coma correction as a decent price that takes nornal filters would be fantastic

I acquired 17/4 last saturday and the only things to dislike so far is strong barrel distortion and vignetting (both correctable) .The rest is pretty satisfactory.
