You could add a small CV 21 3.5 or a slightly bigger but oustanding loxia 21 2.8.

Hi, everyone - thanks again for all the suggestions! After taking the camera for a trip, I definitely like it much more than my old RX-100 and cellphones, due to much better quality/flexibility/zoom for photography. I of course dislike the bulky package compared to RX100/cellphones but each has its own usage - although RX100 is outdated and isn't used any more even if it still takes better photos than the vast majority (if not all, at least in some situations) of the current gen cellphones.

I also found myself hating to switch lenses or filters. I really enjoyed the ability to

@Dr Al @isohw Thanks - I'll keep your suggestions in mind.

@steamtrain I know - I love zoom lens' flexibility, different depths of field and also decent ability under all conditions I use it in, and I also hate to change lens. So I rarely even used the 50mm enough to have a decent comparison. I don't spend that much time on taking photos, when I do, it's when I'm on a trip. How much time would I have to compare two lenses - certainly not enough to do them justice.

I assume in the future I could get some chances to compare more.

Nothing wrong with that, that's where zooms are for.

different depths of field

Well, that 50mm prime as a larger aperture, so that allows for a thinner DOF at the 50mm focal length. You don't need a long focal length of a zoom to get more subject separation, a large aperture of a prime can do the same thing, and in a way that's more flexible as well, as you don't need a large distance to the subject.

and also decent ability under all conditions I use it in

A large aperture prime allows you to work in darker conditions, and it allows you to get subject separation in tighter spaces.

and I also hate to change lens.

If you don't like it, sell it! But it could be a matter of discovering the advantages of primes, which could make you love to change lenses. ;-)
