After 3 days of hiking up mountains, snorkeling with Nemo and Dori, diving with Manta rays & turtles, it was time to leave this beautiful place. I slept by the beach on a hammock with nice 70F ocean breeze and sound of tiny waves washing up on the shore. I caught this tiny bit of color from the corner of my eye and it woke me up immediately...so far I haven't had any luck with sunrise/sunset due to rain/cloud cover the entire trip. The trend was, the days I would go to shoot sunrise, I'd have rain or fog...thats it those were my 2 choices. The days I didn't go and just chill...it was partly cloudy and Sunny.
I quickly went and got the camera/tripod and setup next to the hammock while having coffee and fired off some frames. This was on the last day at Labuan Bajo area before I had to get on the boat for ride back to the main island an hour away and fly back to Bali for the flight home.
This tiny island has some awesome snorkeling, reefs extending out creating pastel waters under the gray skies.
Stunning. Easy to indulge in the peace and tranquility. I like the drama the storm clouds sneak in, that water coloring is amazing, the island adds a nice touch of contrast. Super nice feeling in this capture!
