Down here, Barred Owls often hunt along the roadsides. Unfortunately, the high number of vehicles results in many of the owls being hit and killed.

Thanks for commenting, Tony. Unfortunately these weren't shot around home. Yes highways take a toll on wildlife. Many species are drawn to the open space for various reasons.
