Lovely Morris. I went all the way to Oshawa, Ontario in hopes of seeing a snowy only to be told there is one in southern california .
Thank you Sathsy,
Ya, that's crazy! None this year. It seems few sightings most places.

Thank you for waking this old post. I have not seen any this year, the fist time since I've discovered them on Long Island many years ago.

Hope your snowy buddy is back soon Morris this year!

Ya and a real nice surprise to see the photo as there don't seem to be any here this year. As the ground hog just saw it's shadow I'm starting to think this will be the first time since I discovered them on Long Island many years ago that I'll go a winter without seeing one of these stunning birds.

Fine shot Morris !

Thank you John,
I've seen a few south of me on eBird yet not many. I'm missing standing in the cold for hours waiting for an owl to wake up and do something.

An update, today driving home southbound on I 95 in CT, we had a snowy owl fly across the interstate at about 100 feet. So now I've seen one this winter.
