This set includes the warning signs of the owl flying as well as it flying past me just below my head level. A magnificent and quiet sight. The photos were taken a few days ago on Long Island's South Shore.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

Awesome sequence Morris. I love the hint of pastel colors in the backgrounds of #10 and 11. Awesome close up of this beautiful male in the final image!!
Now why didn’t this happen in 2013?

Thank you Geoff,
to this day I can't explain what happened in 2013 when you came down. There were owls on the beach that year yet for the week you visited we did not find a single one. This is the only owl that has made it to Long Island this season and it has been moving around a lot, probably to have some privacy. With the warm February we are having, it may have gone back north so I'm glad I got to photograph it a few times.

Incredible sequence Morris!
I am out on LI this weekend hoping to spot some sort of wildlife in this bracing cold, haha.
Will report back if successful.
Thank you Stephen,
Ya, a cold few days in an otherwise unusually warm winter. I hope you find some subjects

Excellent sequence and images Morris!
And they catch the tell-tale signs of when owls are about to launch.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Richard,
I posted all the signs of flight coming to help people new to photographing them.

A most excellent set, Morris. Great flight shots and good tracking to get them.
Thank you Ken,
I chose nearly the perfect spot to stand by looking at the owl's body position to predict the direction of lift off.

Wow. An amazing sequence, Morris. He was clearly aware of you. Almost like it was an intentional performance.

Thank you Chuck,
I think it's main concern was finding a meal. We were just entertainment while it waited.
