Third day , brings a different feel and mood. More clouds , yet more geese on the pond. Lovely sunrise and beautiful colors.

As evening approached cloud cover grew heavy.

We went intentionally for the full moon. Yet, no birds ever flew close to it. I think the moon rise was to long after sunset that time of year and the birds were already at roost . I could be very wrong about that though.

Only 1 1/2 days more to experience the refuge and Bernardo.

I hope you enjoy . I thank you for looking and taking this look at Bosque with me.

You suggestions and comment are always welcomed and appreciated.

Birdie

Just reviewed days 1-3. Beautiful images!
You capture the full range of images from close-ups of critters to broad landscapes. All are beautifully composed.

Nice set, Birdie. That first shot is one of the best sunrise shots I've seen from Bosque. Well done.

The first two blastoffs are super Roberta. What is causing the bokeh balls in the top corners of #4? A very creative and attractive image.

The day before the full moon, the moon appears full and will rise 1 hour before sunset into a lovely blue sky with the beginning of magic hour light. Its the time to get birds with the moon. The oppilate works the day after the full moon with the moon settings and appealing full 1 hour after sunrise providing the same effect and a second opportunity each lunar month.

I'm looking forward to day 4 and the half day photos.

Thanks so much. Glad you liked it. I was sitting on the frozen ground to get that perspective when they took off.

Thanks Morris . Way off in the distance were trees. The light was sun rise was filtering through the trees. There must have been dew or ice causing the this. The tiny dots not by the trees must have been the water drops coming off the ducks .

As to the moon rise, I believe it also has something to do with the time of the year and the angle of the moons orbit. For whatever reasons, by the time time the moon was above the horizon , the birds were not flying at least where we were.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately , not very close at all 99% of the time. The cranes were far off. I am not the best one to judge distances but probably ranged from 100 to 300 feet. Most of the shots are heavy crops.

Roberta, thanks for a set of fine images from one of our favorite places! They really bring back some good memories.

Lately I've been going through my BdA/Bernardo images for a presentation at the retirement community we are at.
