The sounds of the trumpets during the Dussehra festival were pretty awesome, and gave the ceremonies an air of auspiciousness. These traditional instruments are called Thonkrus. They are meant to herald the arrival of the Gods, effigies that are carried in from the surrounding mountain villages. A few times I stood right in front of these horns, and felt the sound pass through my bones. Talk about clearing the air!

Nice work.
Bet these are beautiful in color ?!
Thanks, Bill. I am really into B&W right now. But actually their garb was so mixed with traditional and modern, that I think the introduction of colour might have been too distracting.
