Douglas, Parul, and Dan - thank you, gentlemen.
Dan - Upstate New York, Northern Michigan, Minnesota etc are all much more cold than Reykjavík and southern Iceland on account of the warming effect of the Gulf Stream that we benefit from. What gets you here are the wind and the instability of weather (we are on a rock in the middle of the N Atlantic, totally exposed to the elements).
