Great action sequence Karmal,
it does appear that the Zebra may have been unwell, as to sneak up this close by 2 lions is very unusual, unless perhaps there was a massive head wind, that was in the lions favor?

Love the head on POV action, this is a dream angle. I'm back in the Serengeti again to document the calving season in 2 weeks, can't wait.

Awesome, in many ways! Perfect exposure, thrilling sequence, and respectful presentation.

Certainly confirms Darwin's theory (survival of the fittest). Nature is beautiful, but can be cruel at times.

thank you for viewing my photos the resume point was not the best I did my best to capture the moment that is often repeated in the savannah but you need to have time and dedication to capture these tragic moments that are part of nature in the savannah .. I waited and followed the herd for more than an hour the hunt is always the priority of the female in most cases then the others take advantage of the banquet

this sequence was filmed in the Masai Mara if you are lucky and have an excellent connoisseur of the habits of the lions of the place you can capture these moments, usually the herd you follow hunts every three days when hunger strikes the zebra and like all hunted animals are the weakest and youngest subjects easily captured .. thank you for your vision and your questions to which I happily answered .. a greeting !!

I thank you for your consent I did my best to immortalize the event even if there were several disturbing elements around I cut the photos functionally to the rendering and viewing conditions to make them better .. a greeting !!

My pro wildlife photographer, Roy Toft has a saying. "What do photographers and preditors have in common? Patience!" This was after waiting several hours for a Leopard waiting in the deep grass (they were several feet from the leopard) for a kill shot of a herd of antelope. And it didn't happen due to the antelope moving in another direction just outside the range of the Leopard.

You still need to be lucky, and for the predator to find a distracted and young prey there you will have 70% success .. but everything is never taken for granted, here I followed a lion for more than two hours but aware that it would never have hunted a buffalo alone, in fact he abandoned the idea ..

Another amazing set! Thanks for sharing! My pro friend who I mentioned is going to Botswanna next year heading a tour. But at the moment the lottery is not being very helpful! Don't have the funds just yet.
