Interesting although I get the 25 post limit I had assumed it was only for new accounts like myself. I would have thought an account from 2005 would be grandfathered in...
The way I understand it, and please believe when I say...what I understand and WHAT I THINK I understand are 2 different things at 77 1/2!
Periods of inactivity will remove you from this and also from your password being "saved"....Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong!
Good luck!

I'm just getting back into photography after many many years, and I'm more of a lurker in general online. Is it frowned upon here to ask someone to connect on a separate channel/forum/platform to transact? It totally makes sense to limit who can post an item for sale, but it seems too restrictive for buyers to try and buy here.

25 posts to be able to send PM This is ridiculous! Such a waste of time and resources...
I understand your frustration. I was caught by surprise when I went to send a PM a month or so ago and couldn't. However, up until that time, no issues sending PM's.
My guess is, Fred or the other Admins wanted people who participate on a regular basis.
Yes, I had bought Buy & Sell just to be able to PM for a month, but my membership ran out - unable to respond to PM from an existing conversation even. Will try for the 25 posts as I'm halfway there rather than purchasing another month just to complete a conversation.
Having the same issue.. I would love to buy something from the B&S board, but no go because I have too few posts. I wonder if an unintended side effect of this policy will be an increase in garbage posts (like this one ) by users only seeking to raise their post count?
Just came across this thread after running into this issue as well -- good to know that the threshold is 25 posts. I really wish that limit was more clearly communicated in the error message when trying to send a PM.
