It's been a while since I found my way on this forum. I hope you don't mind my intrusion.

When driving cross country I stumbled on this thing in the middle of nowhere on a moonless, starry night. Some tourists even conveniently shun a torch at it just as my exposure was going.

Wow, beautiful. You've managed to really capture and represent the amazing array of color in that sky. And really great exposure on the tower itself, it's so easy to overdo that portion of a nighttime image like this.
