I'll have to try that. The results are what truly matters so I'm not adverse to schlepping my monopod around. I have a really nice virtually never used carbon fiber 3 leg Sirui. I got it some years ago but never used it. Maybe it's time to break it out and enjoy. I'll let you know the results. I would image it will remove a significant amount of the movement allowing the Steadyshot to do it's best work. Hopefully tomorrow I can play. The weathers been bad lately.
I've been fiddling with the A7RM5 for some bird photography. The downside of posting here as the image sizes are so small of a crop for a 61-megapixel camera! Here's an image of a Pileated woodpecker from this weekend. Even the crop isn't 100%. Crazy detail is always great, although TBH, it's not necessarily a noticeable difference vs. the A1. My observation for birds is that the AI system is very good at finding the subject and locating the focus box on a bird's eye, but the AF isn't obviously as fast to lock and stick as the A1. When this system comes to an A1 and A9II successor its going to be mind-blowing.

Maybe this is a silly question, but do you mean the ones I posted (is there a way to tell which post a reply is tied to)? If so, I shot these with the two Laowa shift lenses: 15mm and 20mm. Thanks!
When you post images you can click a box to show Exif data. I do it all the time on my tests as that’s always nice to keep track. Also helps other members decide on lenses and such. I always like to know that data. It’s your call though
In this case it wouldn't of mattered though, unless he edited the EXIF to manually include the lens. It would have just shown ----, since the Laowa don't have any electrical contacts.

Right, I do appreciate that. As Tim mentioned, these lenses fly blind, though I know I was shooting around f/13 or f/14. I also post using embed links from my website, so that prevents the automatic EXIF.

How are RV and 200-600 working together? There seemed to be little love for the RIV combo with that lens...
Cheers, A.
I am happy with the combo, it performs as expected considering the lens range and aperture. At least for me required some shots to understand how it works and to get familiar with.
Received my A7RV and the weather here in Ohio has been 40+mph winds and wind chills at -20degrees! So a little holiday cheer to share and toast to. A friend of mine is the wine maker for the wine, I was gifted this very interesting sounding bourbon and it was time to tinker and fire off some of my first shots with this body. Lens is Sony 85 f/1.8 @ f/2.
Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to all!

Some more pictures with the A7RV and 200-600 G combo. I had to resize the files to make them fit within the forum requirements so there is a noticeable lack of quality.
