According to the website: DxO PureRAW is not included in DxO PhotoLab, however DxO PhotoLab ELITE Edition offers all the features of DxO PureRAW: RAW demosaicing, Denoising, Optical Corrections, Export Features, and Comparison.
This confuses me a bit, because when I asked DXO support, they said DxO PhotoLab includes DeepPRIME.
So am I to understand that DXO Elite 6 is essentially fully comprehensive? I swear it's like a different language...
PL5 user here. General rec is to buy PL not PhotoRAW. Have not used PR personally, but my understanding is PL does everything PR does and a lot more. Would look into how PL works as a Lightroom developer if that’s your intent, as I use it standalone so not sure how that works.
Definitely PL includes DeepPrime among many other adjustments.
What they said is exactly correct. PureRaw is a separate product for Lightroom/Photoshop users and you do NOT get the PureRaw plug-in for LR/Photoshop if you buy Photolab Elite. And the reason is, you don’t need it if you use PL Elite as PureRaw is a small subset of features from PL. PL can do everything PureRaw can do and much more.

I have PL5 but literally have never used it. For $69, I'm ok with the upgrade as I'm committing myself to use it.
So if I understand you correctly, PL6 should be comprehensive enough, and include at least as much as Photo Raw?

Ok, thank you.
I don't know why DXO mystifies me so much. I guess if I just dive in, I'll learn osmotically.
If you have used DxO PhotoLab Elite 5, then you are already familiar with >95% of the functionalities of DxO PhotoLab Elite 6.
The two applications are very similar, practically the same in most respects, except a few differences (wide color gamut and DeepPRIME XD are the new features).
Whether "DXO Elite 6 is essentially fully comprehensive" depends on what you mean by "comprehensive." If the version you own, DxO PhotoLab Elite 5, is comprehensive for your needs, then version 6 is no less so.
I have never used DxO PureRAW. My understanding is that this is a dedicated denoising tool for those who don't need all the PP capabilities of PL and who prefer doing PP in LR or PS but would like to denoise the images first.
It makes sense to expect that PL does everything PureRAW does, plus much more.
"DxO PureRAW is not included in DxO PhotoLab" in the same sense as Adobe Reader is not included in Adobe Acrobat. These are independently existing applications where the former has some functionalities of the latter, yet the latter can do much more.
Either way I would not get PureRaw now which is currently version 2, which has DeepPrime. PL6 has DeepPrime XD. Unlike Topaz, DXO does not work on an annual purchase cycle for PR. PR2 was released in March so PR3 will come in about 3 months. If you want DeepPrime XD you will have to pay the full upgrade price.
I have downloaded trial copies of DXO Photolab 6 E and DXO PurRaw2 really to see if PR2 would do for my needs. PL6 probably has more than I would use but it is easy to use.
PR2 seems to automate the complete process with no user control (? did I miss something in the trial version?).

Correct. You have no control expect for type of noise processing, global sharpening/dist (off or on ) and format. PureRaw 3 should be out within the next week. It will likely have DeepPrime XD. Also users have requested some control over the sharpening amount. Some say the default can be a bit too much. Not sure if that will be included with PR3 but we shall see.
PL6 which others have stated is the full blown program that offers control for lens sharpening. Not the USM tab. That is only there as a back up in case your lens is not on DXO's list.

Thanks for confirming on PR2. I don’t know what PR3 may bring but PR2 had few user options. No tiff format only dng or jepg export.
PR2 was released on March 16 so I expect we will know pretty soon. The thing about DNG is when the file comes back to LrC you can access all your colour profiles, etc.
An example using Topaz. If you open DeNoise, Sharpen or Gigapixel you need to use the "edit in" option, select which format you want - TIFF, PSD or Jpeg. You also need select edit a copy with LrC settings. You have to be sure you select the colour profile you want before doing that because it comes back as Color and that is it.
Using Topaz Photo AI you can use the "plug in extras" option and it will open as a RAW file. It also comes back as a DNG so again all the colour profiles are available.
The one thing I liked about PR was it came back as a DNG. I was happy to see Topaz finally went that route with Photo AI. Files are bigger but it gives me more flexibility.

It’s now available in Europe. I just checked the site.
I downloaded PR 3 trial version just to check it out. I already own PhotoLab 6 w/ the same tech which BTW has a new v. 6.4.0 to download as well for anyone interested.
I do own and use photolab 6.
I tried the free trial of pureraw2.
I found it much easier to go back and forth from lightroom with pureraw.
I am probably missing something- computers are not my strong suit- but is there an easy way to move from lightroom to photolab back to lightroom? I always end up having tomanually reimport into lightroom.
I may even purchase pureraw just for the ease of use if I can not find a better way in and out of photolab.
any thoughts?
Thanks

I had PureRAW 1 but then decided to buy Photolab. Photolab 5/6 offers better control over DeepPRIME(XD) parameters. I presume that is still the case with PureRAW 3.
