During my visit to Iceland I spent 4 night in Reykjavik peninsula. Reykjavik has quite a bit to see other than the usual golden circle. I really lucked out during my stay with some good weather. This particular day the weather was nice all day but quite windy. Wanted to go an photograph Harpa again but saw this striking yellow lighthouse and quickly made turn to park at Höfði house (another historic landmark). The winds were really picking up so didn't take my tripod. It was close to midnight and the setting sunlight was hitting the lighthouse was very nice. The soft light on lighthouse was really special and the clouds were really looking nice.

The first shot is really great Parul. Not to diss the other two but for me the overall composition and color contrast are what makes it compelling. Great work and how come you didn't show this to me when you were at the studio.

Thanks Peter, I for real thought that the first image composition was bad as I had the lighthouse in dead center. From my vantage point, if I move the camera to right then I get the street and moving left would have missed the leading line. Hence, I had the Lighthouse dead centered. I am just starting to work on the images now so missed it when I was at the studio.

Thanks DaleBerlin, it was really windy and cold that evening. Hence, didn’t try too many different compositions. I was really not sure about the first one as I placed the lighthouse dead centered. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks

Thanks Bill, the yellow really stood out. Infact, in Iceland I have seen some amazing bright Orange light houses with spectacular scenery. Will post a collection of lighthouses from Iceland at some point.

Hi Parul, I really like the yellow and blue color contrast especially in number 1. I might try cropping a bit from the right to eliminate the commercial looking background building to tighten the focus on the lovely color interplay of lighthouse and sky.

I love lighthouse and have quite a collections of pixs myself, it's really neat to see the different colors tho, really pops and stands out and contrasty' as well. ( my new word, lol )

Hi Ross, thanks a lot for your feedback. Here is the cropped version. Ideally, I should have moved a few steps to the right and framed the lighthouse a bit better to eliminate the buildings. One thing I have noticed is that I need to take a little time to evaluate the scene before just shooting like. Little things but so important...thanks.
Also, photography is a bit difficult when your spouse is not into it :-( and cold icelandic wind is just blowing like crazy!!
