I always miss my hummingbirds when they leave for the year so I am going through this year's photos looking for my favorites and thought I would post a few. We always plant a lot of flowers to draw the hummers and this year I was concentrating on catching the hummingbirds on the flowers. I am always looking to improve so suggestions are welcome. I think these are all ruby throats but if I am wrong please let me know. We have the occasional rufous but I have never been able to positively identify one as a rufous.

what a series. so well done! i see a lot of time and patience here.
I would say those are key ingredients for nature photography! I made more of an effort this year since I have only 2 really good months for hummingbirds and last year I didn’t put the time in and regretted it later.
