After living in tropical south Florida since the 80's, I have recently retired and relocated to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. I have forgotten just how incredible fall can be. After finally settling in over the summer, I've been able to get out hiking and capture a few of the incredible sights around our new mountain home.
Shot on Sony a1, Sony 20 & 85mm f1.8 and Samyang 45 1.8, with 6 stop ND filter.
These are all excellent! My wife and I are relocating from Utah to Asheville next October (gotta photograph Colorado colors one more time ), and am getting excited!
Beautiful set. I quite liked the second, and was ready to make a nice comment when I went back and looked closer to find the wonderful sun star that takes it to another level. Print worthy for sure.

You should be, the surrounding mountains are just spectacular!! We are 30min SE of Asheville, and the number of incredible hiking trails and views are astonishing. Good luck on your move!

Glad this wasn't a report of tripping and smashing a camera in your first fall in 40 years...
I wasn't expecting autumn colours...

Hehe, I was very limited in my position on the picture (crawled out on a tiny dock), and kept waiting for the sun to rise enough to shine thru the trees and give me the star! A big print sits on my living room wall

Fantastic images. Number 2 is incredible.
Thanks so much, I am really proud of that one! The level of detail gets lost in the tiny web size, but printed large it really gives an amazing feel. It was like the lake was breathing with the low fog rolling across the calm water…
Nothing like a good Hooker first thing in the morning.
I was just up those falls myself a week ago or so. Beautiful area and you captured it well.
Welcome to the mountains!
