Were you around for the demise of one of the quads? I think it happened one or two days after our group departed.
I posted this today in the Sony group. It reminds me of photographers who get distracted at the crucial moment
Yes I was,and I had been hanging by the bridge most evening though luckily I was at the falls when it happened. I have been to brooks a few times (10 i think), are you are regular? Are you familiar with some of thefacebook groups that exist? lmk, happy to collab.
These are just super! I’m so excited to be going in July! I don’t have the 400 2.8, but I do have the 600 f.4. I also have a 100-500, but not excited about the 7.1 at 500mm…. Will the 600 be too much? I’m thinking of renting the 400. Do you use a tripod most of the time? Thanks for any tips you may have. I’m somewhat new to This sight and just may pay to join in posting! There are wonderful photographers here, hope to up my game and learn a few things!

P.S. you mentioned some Facebook pages you might recommend.
I think 600 is too much Tollefsen, especially at the falls. There was a group shooting 600s when I was there. They had to shoot back from the main falls platform when in that area and apparently found it challenging.
I was happy with the 400, but found it tight sometimes. I'd recommend the 400 and a zoom for maximum flexibility. That being said, I had a 70-200 and a 1.4 tc with me but almost never picked them up - probably more due to tunnel vision on my part than lack of opportunities.
It's a great experience. I look forward to seeing what you capture during your visit.
