I'll take your "close focus" version Fred if you are not using it.
It's interesting that the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Lux pre-asph with the brass infinity lock (which I also own and love) has a noticeably closer MFD than the later pre-asph version with the plastic tab. I measured it at about 0.8m, which isn't too far from my modded "close-focus" Steel Rim.

Leica 35/1.4 pre asph. It might not look obvious at first, but it delivers strong resolution across the entire frame. The lower contrast and the SA glow tend to mask that detail, yet the fine structure is there when you look closely, even off axis.

took my M11M to the cemetery, choosing my 35 steel rim reissue for it's non-APO qualities when shot wide open - lens flare, soft dreamy yesteryear look.

A bit unusual for landscapes. M-D, Leica 35/1.4 SR wide open:
it's perfect for that landscape - creates a slight glow on the red tips of the mountains that emphasizes/enhances the deep shadows, stunning. Clinically sharp rendering by, say, the cron 35 APO couldn't create this level of impact. It's why the 35 SRR (and the lux 50 pre asph v2) remain my favorite lenses.

I have a tough decision to make between keeping the SR or the LLL 11873. The size and the dreamy rendering at f1.4 favor SR. The closer MFD and everything else favor 11873. Already have the CV 35/f3.5 as a pocket point and shoot option.

To borrow phrasing from Kenneth Grahame: There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing as messing about with three or four different 35mm lenses.

Inverse problem for me, I have come close to buying a SR a number times, first I didnt because Fred shows my CS 35 mm 1.4 is close and I already had it, now I have the LLL Ti as well and I am already really fond of its render and you guys keep bringing the SR up and I keep questioning the CC staying in my wallet...... still not convinced I want a SR for anything other than size.... but I am reading convince me I am wrong.

Wonder what setting makes the UK such a bad place ?
I did some searching as I was curious if it was something in my Imgur profile's settings, but apparently Imgur has pulled out of the UK market due to some potential penalties over data misuse a couple of months ago.

Thanks for checking. I had not heard of this before now, but seems to stem from an Online Safety Act and age related data sharing, Steam, Reddit etc. I imagine, while well intended, regional regulations will only become more irritating, and widespread as did cookie pop-ups.
