Who stinking needs frames per second...this was a single click with a medium format digital camera...
AMAZING day today at Katmai NP, Brooks Lodge / Brooks Falls
Amazed by the the Fujifilm GFX 100s with the GF 250 F4...this combo is amazing...the detail is incredible...both images here are cropped in from the original large RAW file...insane...
But also, I finally got the catch shot...I think I will take the claws over the fish jumping into the bears teeth...but hey, it is what it is...

Very nice Scott. The image detail must be amazing. No trouble now making a large print of one of these images for your wall. How does the AF system work compared to a full frame mirrorless system, I’m sure you have as well

Ehhhh, who needs 102mp's when you have frames per second
Last medium format camera I owned was a film Mamiya 645. I keep forgetting there are medium format mirrorless cameras! Guess you have to build bigger walls in your home for bigger prints
An amazing single shot capture Scott and a beauty of an image, normally I see those as large fish but this bear makes it look like a colorful minnow! Impressive sir.

, hey guys...confession time...
My A1 with the 400GM was sitting in my bag at the time I took this shot...why, I was the idiot who left the camera turned on when I left the hotel in the am to catch the almost 2 hour flight into Katmai...upon arrival...batteries were very dead...spent about an hour shooting with my GFX 100s when I fellow passenger loaned me a battery with the A1...
There is really no comparison of the autofocus system between the GFX and say the A1...night and day difference, but that said, with patience and practice, you can get some action...

Scott, great captures and timing with these. I have been to Brooks Camp many times and never had the good luck to have the fish jumping while the bears were there. I always had to go in late June just before the fish run would start . I always saw plenty of bears but not fish and the one time the fish were early, there were no bears. I counted over 100 fish jumping the falls per minute. Bruce

Say, you didn't enjoy yourself there did you?
These are amazing Scott!! The last one looks like the bear is standing in ice and the fish is just sitting there ready for him, the detail on that fish is incredible. Lovely look to the slow shutter shot, just beautiful. Nice job on skinning that salmon, yummy looking now

Doug,
Check out my other thread from Lake Clark NP...I went a lot wider at that location...at the falls, there was only three bears, so decided to go tighter...
