Visiting the Lone Pine, CA area a few times a year provides the opportunity to see the Sierra Nevada and assorted foregrounds in a variety of conditions. This morning was one of those mornings. A three minute window of opportunity to catch the Harvest full moon in perfect position for the first light creeping over the Inyo mountains behind me and splashing on to the Sierra crest. Mt. Whitney is trying to poke through, barely visible here. Didn't have much more to do today...
Magnificent shot Jeffery. The moon is so vivid and crisp. The colour and detail in the mountains are lovely. Curious if you blended two images together or if this is a single shot?

One frame. Around -2 EV to preserve moon detail and naturally saturate the mountains.
So many things quickly impressed me with this shot Jeffrey. The contrast is magnificent as is the color depth. That moon is impressive, just love the purity of the color and the detailing of it. Really a strong image, great shot!
