p.1 #1 · Gf 110mm macro for aquarium

I’m going to the aquarium this weekend and I would like to get some pics with my 110mm. Which macro extension would you recommend? Should I use a UV or polarizer filter to reduce glare of glass?

Having shot at the Long Beach aquarium a few years ago, I think you're going to be fighting for all the light you can get, so a polarizer is likely not a good idea, plus it only works at specific angles and you really don't want to be shooting obliquely through the plex, which is usually a couple of inches thick. I had the best results just putting the lens flat up against the plex and waiting for the action to come in front of me. A UV filter is not necessary for this. An extension tube will get you closer but will also compromise the optics of the lens, but that may not matter since the plex will do that so much more. I think that and 18mm or 20mm extension would be more effective than the 45mm. You can get third party tubes for a little over a hundred bucks rather than the $329 for the Fuji.
