Spent a few days in Uclulet on Vancouver Island and got out a few times for some photos. Really refreshing to escape the heat and enjoy some hiking and beach time.
The natural framing of the first was exceptionally well balanced on your part as I see it. That is quite a beautiful vantage point, just gorgeous image! Your exposure balance on the second amazes me, love how you handled it for presentation, great color and shadow work. The shots grow moodier as I move through them, wonderful series.
The second one is a beauty with the first a close second (minor point: a few dust spots are visible). Good example of how to work with cloudless skies.

Thanks Karl. The coastline near Uclulet is very wild with the forest growing right up to the ocean side. You have to constantly deal with trees and branches and rocks as you compose your images. This first image is from a spot that is quite well known and the trees / branches provide a very natural framing. Many spots are not well situated where you have to battle objects protruding into your compositions and many times moving around is really not possible.

Thanks Rajan...yeh I know the images might have dust spots on them. I did not spend the right amount of time with them...just wanted to get a few images to send to my friends who are planning on visiting the same location in a few weeks.
I clicked on this thread seeing the "border" effect of vegetation in a small thumbnail of the first photograph. Beautiful scene in the background and strong subject the centre to match as well. "Border" is something I probably should take advantage more and your photo is a good example why. I probably would try to avoid including that tree but it wouldn't be as good as your photo.

A beautiful coastal environment.Did you see any wolves on or near the beach? Maybe I'm thinking of Tofino.
No wolves this time, just a couple black bears. I was there a few years ago and saw 4 wolves on Long beach. There were 2 rangers with guns patrolling the beach to ensure everyone was safe. The wolves just trotted down the beach when they saw us.
